French ambassador sees Christian-Muslim relations as crucial

French Ambassador to Lebanon Denis Pietton said that the head of the Kataeb party MP Amin Gemayel’s visit to Cairo strengthened Christian –Muslim relations, which are at the heart of Lebanon’s national fabric.

“Christian-Muslim relations are paramount to protect pluralism and human wealth in the Middle-East”, Pietton said.

Following his meeting with Gemayel, Pietton reiterated the support of the French republic to Lebanon’s sovereignty, especially regarding the Syrian breaches of the Lebanese border.

The two statesmen also discussed the issue of the Syrian opposition members who sought found refuge in Lebanon.
