REPORT: Prince Muqren denies the Kingdom’s plan to withdraw funds from Lebanon

Second deputy to the prime minister prince Muqren Ibn Abdul-Aziz stressed on Sunday that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is adamant on holding good ties with Lebanon, and denied that the Kingdom took measures in regards to the expatriated Lebanese living and working there.

“The kingdom’s policy regarding Lebanon is constant and will not change since Lebanon is cherished especially by the Servant of the two Holy Mosques who will always support the Lebanese economy,” Muqren Ibn Abdul-Aziz said.

In this regard, prince Muqren praised the role played by the economic bodies since “they reflect the image of Lebanon”, and reassured the delegation by stating that the Kingdom does not intend to withdraw any funds deposited in the Lebanese banks.

On another note, a delegation from the economic bodies visited Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri in his residence in Riad in order to discuss the security, political and economic situation in Lebanon.
