Grand Mufti Mohammed Rachid Qabbani transferred on Saturday the management of Dar al-Fatwa to the Muslim Scholars who are expected to hold a meeting under the chairmanship of Sheikh Amine al-Kurdi.

Earlier, around 50 persons from various Lebanese areas headed to Dar al-Fatwa to support Grand Mufti Qabbani.

Mufti Qabbani filed on Thursday a lawsuit before the State Appeal Prosecution in Beirut against an unknown on charges of falsifying the minutes of a session of the Higher Islamic Council that was devoted to the body's mandate extension.

It is worth mentioning that PM Najib Mikati held a meeting on Wednesday with former premieres whereby they aimed at paving the way for the Higher Islamic Council to continue its work, until the election of a new council, calling on the incumbent council to hold a session, in the presence of all its members.
