Lebanon's Education Minister announces start of official school year and university return plans

Lebanon's Education Minister Abbas Halabi announced on Sunday that the official school year will commence on November 4, with remote or hybrid learning options, and that registration will be conducted electronically.

The Minister also stated that private universities can resume classes starting Monday. 

He explained that the decision will be made by each university administration, taking into account the circumstances of the students. 

Halabi added that the choice between in-person and remote learning will be at the universities' discretion and responsibility.
 
 
The minister announced that UNICEF has informed that it will cover the printing of 1.5 million national books for all education levels and is preparing to supply all alternative education centers with fuel, internet, and the costs for insurance policies for each student, along with funding for the 'Madrasati' platform.

He emphasized that private schools are granted the option for remote learning based on their available resources, while the decision for in-person classes is entirely the responsibility of those who choose to implement it.
