Minister Charbel: We await the name-list of women detained in Syria

Caretaker Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel hoped on Thursday that an electoral draft law would be reached and the government formed as soon as possible.

Minister Charbel's remarks came following the meeting of the Central Security Council held at the Ministry, whereby he asserted that the case of the Lebanese hostages in Syria's Aazaz is being followed up by the Lebanese General Security Chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim.

He added that the Ministry still does not know the person in charge of the abductees after the disappearance of Abou Ibrahim.

He also said that contacts are being held with the Turkish and Qatari authorities in this regards.

Caretaker Minister Charbel said that the Ministry of Interior is still waiting for the names of the women detained by the Syrian regime in light of Liwaa Asifat al-Chamal's statement delivered Wednesday evening.

Eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 22nd of May. Only two have so far been released.

Their families have vowed to continue their movements until all their loved ones have returned home safe and sound.

They accuse Ankara of sponsoring the kidnapping and the Lebanese government of inaptness in this regard.

Over the past two weeks they also held a major demonstrations in Martyrs Square before the Turkish Airline Offices whereby they announced that they would be calling for the boycott of all Turkish products in Lebanon since "Lebanon imports a billion dollars worth of products from Ankara on a yearly basis."
