Bassil says hybrid law divides Mount Lebanon, weakens Christian community

Caretaker Minister of Energy Gebran Bassil held a meeting on Sunday in Smar-Jbeil  whereby he launched a water grid and slammed the systematic policies of theft and embezzlement followed by former governments, leading to deterioration in the country.

In this regard, Bassil stressed that "all the electoral laws that were adopted, since 1990 to present, aimed at marginalizing the Christian role in the country", adding that they sought to cross the Christian community out of public administrations and Ministries.

Caretaker Minister Bassil also pointed out that the hybrid law aims at dividing Mount Lebanon in order to weaken the political influence of Christians.
