Maronite Council meets to reject violence and political tension
The Council of Maronite Bishops called on the Lebanese to unite and build a state based on equality, love and justice, and to reject all aspects of violence.

The Council expressed its concern about the ongoing conflicts in the Arab world and the complete absence of religious standards in these conflicts, calling on the political parties writing the constitution in the newly freed countries to base their thoughts on the essence of the civil state.

Following the Council’s monthly meeting, the Bishops expressed their regret for the ongoing political tension and division in the country, as well as the declining economic situation affecting peoples’ daily life. The Council hailed the prisoners exchange between Israel and Palestine which took place on the 18th of October.
