Kuwait's Emir in hospital for medical checks - KUNA agency

Kuwait's ruler Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber al-Sabah was admitted to hospital on Saturday (July 18) for medical checks, the state news agency KUNA reported.

KUNA quoted Emiri Court Affairs Minister Sheikh Ali Jarrah al-Sabah as saying that the 91-year-old Sheikh Sabah would undergo a medical checkup, without giving details.

Kuwait's ruler underwent a hospital treatment in the United States in October 2019, KUNA reported at the time.

Sheikh Sabah has ruled the U.S. ally and OPEC oil producer since 2006 and steered its foreign policy for more than 50 years.
