Iran hopes for expansion of ties with new UAE president
Iran stated on Monday that it hopes to strengthen ties with the United Arab Emirates following the election of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as president of the Gulf country.
 
Both countries downgraded diplomatic relations in 2016, following the severance of ties between Iran and Gulf Arab heavyweight Saudi Arabia, a key ally of the Emirates.
