REPORT: Families of Arsal captives block roads with burning tires

Sleiman al-Dirani is one of the nearly 20 Lebanese captives whose fate still hangs on a decision by Jabhat al-Nusra and the Islamic State.

Dirani's family and relatives blocked roads for the second consecutive day upon the request of the kidnapped troops who urged their families, in a recent video, to take to the streets to demand the release of Islamist prisoners as a condition to stay alive.

Several roads were blocked with burning tires on Sunday, mainly in the regions of al-Labweh, Baalbek and Riyak.

The family of Lebanese Armed Forces soldier Ibrahim Mghit also cut-off the Qalamoun road, calling on the concerned authorities to reveal the fate of all troops who remain in captivity.
