The wife of Ali al-Bazzal, a Lebanese soldier who was kidnapped by gunmen in Arsal, said the captives' families will take "shocking" escalatory measures.

Bazzal's wife asked Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to pave the way for negotiations, noting that he has a final word on the swapping concept.

She also asked Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt to steer their differences away from the case, urging them to unite.

In this regard, Bazzal's wife addressed Prime Minister Tammam Salam, saying "the solution is in your hand. Stop evading the captives' families".

"You should negotiate if you are a capable, prime minister," she told Salam.

The soldier's wife also said she asked Sheikh Mustafa al-Hujeiri to exert efforts so that she could visit her husband, saying al-Hujeiri confirmed he was no longer involved in the negotiations.

Turning to the demands of Jabhat al-Nusra, "the group calls for an end to the persecution of Sunnis, Syrian refugees and Arsal residents as well as the release of all detainees who were arrested in light of the Arsal battles," Bazzal's wife said.

"Members of Jabhat al-Nusra told me they cannot stop the killing [of Ali al-Bazzal] but would rather postpone it," she concluded.
