REPORT: Health Minister Abou Faour says Lebanon exposed to threat of Ebola
Health Minister Wael Abou Faour warned on Monday that Lebanon could be exposed to the threat of the deadly Ebola virus since a huge number of Lebanese expatriates live in countries where the virus is widespread.   

"A team dispatched by the Health Ministry will follow up on the health conditions of travelers coming from affected countries," Abou Faour said during a press conference.    

"An agreement was reached with airlines to distribute questionnaires on travelers in order to reveal potential symptoms of the virus and to notify the Lebanese authorities before the arrival of planes to the country," the minister said.    

He added that medical teams will be trained across the Lebanese regions to know how to deal with the fatal virus.   

The epidemic of the hemorrhagic disease, which can kill up to 90 percent of those it infects, has claimed the lives of 4,546 people across Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, the three worst-affected countries.    

Nigeria had 20 cases in total, of which eight had died.
