Archbishop of Beirut Abdel-Sater to Lebanese leaders: Power is a service

Maronite Archbishop of Beirut Boulos Abdel-Sater delivered on Sunday a sermon marking the Saint Maroun holiday in which he addressed the Lebanese leaders, calling on them to make initiatives that give hope, to deliver speeches that unite and actions that build.”

 

“We also want you to remember that power is a service,” he added.

 

“Do the Lebanese people who elected you in 2018 not deserve from you to correct the failure in the fiscal, social, economic and political performance,” he said addressing the Lebanese politicians.

 

For his part, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai voiced hopes that Lebanon’s uprising will remain ‘a burning flame that addresses the consciences of officials.”
