Bassil: Large number of Lebanese banks still making discretionary transfers abroad-[VIDEO]

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Gebran Bassil asserted on Tuesday that a large number of Lebanese banks are still making discretionary transfers abroad on the pretext that "there is no law preventing them."

 

“All that we are asking for is to control these transfers abroad,” he added.

 

Bassil’s comments were made following the meeting of the joint parliamentary committees in which he stressed that there is an intentional extension of discussions for not approving the "capital control" draft law, which is the control of transfers abroad in order to preserve the depositors' money, in addition to the control of domestic bank withdrawals.
