REPORT: Political stances in regards to naming MP Tammam Salam

Following the resignation of Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and in light of holding consultations to name a new prime Minister, calmness prevailed on 3 main axes in Lebanon; security prevailed in Tripoli, Sheikh Ahmad Assir and his supporters stopped their movements in Sidon, and developments in Arsal are no longer at the forefront.

Various political parties nominated MP Tammam Salam as a Prime Minister and Hezbollah also nominated MP Salam since the latter is known for his political stances.

This report will examine the stances of various political factions along with the stance of the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon in regards to naming MP Tammam Salam as Prime Minister.
