REPORT: Lebanese deputies stay at hotel, cost the government LBP 150 million

The parliamentary sub-committee tasked with discussion of the electoral draft law ended its mission and the deputies returned home, after the committee had booked the “Etoile Suites” hotel, near al-Nejmeh Square, for 34 days in order for the deputies to be safe and not to waste time.

The MPs checked out with a LBP 360 million bill, noting that the administration of the hotel adopted the costs of 2006; however, the parliament refused to pay such an amount and demanded a reduction to be applied.

This report will examine the booking conditions and will expose the stay of the deputies which has led to such a bill.
