More than 300 people evacuated from Mariupol

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Thursday the evacuation of more than 300 people from the destroyed city of ariupol, after he called for the United Nations assistance to "rescue" the wounded trapped at the Azovstal steel plant.

In his usual evening address, Zelenskiy said that 344 people had been evacuated from Mariupol and surrounding areas and headed to the Kiev-controlled city of Zaporizhia.
