Lebanese Marianne Abi Fadel receives Gold Award from Italian Society of Cardiology

The Lebanese professor and Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), Marianne Abi Fadel, received the Gold Award from the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC 83) in Rome, Italy.

Abi Fadel was recognized for her dedication and hard work that led to the discovery of the implication of PCSK9 in Familial Hypercholesterolemia and its cardiovascular complications, paving the way for a new therapeutic class of cholesterol-lowering drugs.
