Lebanese kid to Santa: Stop my mother's tears
Children in Lebanon are maturing way beyond their years, witnessing severe economic distress is affecting their lifestyles

Instead of asking for games and toys, kids were “robbed” of their innocence and woke up early to the painful reality of seeing the daily frustration of their parents trying to make ends meet.
Inside the box of wishes at the Église de Notre Dame du Rosaire, the children in Zouk Mosbeh shared what they wanted for Christmas.
Instead of asking for gifts, a kid named Joe asked Jesus for his mother to stop crying every night.
“Jesus, I want my mother to stop crying every night because she doesn’t have the money to make cheese sandwiches for my siblings and me to take to school,” a page on Facebook called Zouk Mosbeh Baldati shared.
From the moment of publishing the message, the Lebanese started sharing their anger towards the current situation depriving children of dreaming and having ambitions.
