Vintage footage shows Lebanon celebrating NYE before civil war
Lebanese people of all ages reminisce on the golden age of Lebanon. With a deep longing for nostalgia, many still remember their country as the "Paris of the Middle East" with its fusion of modernity and extensive historical heritage.

Known for having a deep love for life and their hospitality, the Lebanese have for years managed to enjoy living life to the fullest, expressing themselves in creative ways by transforming their capital city into a hub for nightlife and culture despite the wars and political instability.

Nothing can make the Lebanese prouder than seeing footage of the good old days, which displays Lebanon and Beirut as the region's then-leading touristic destinations, especially during the 1960s and 1970s.

As Lebanon welcomed 2023 with parties around the country, footage emerged showing New Year's Eve in Beirut, Hamra Street, in 1974.

The video displays packed streets and restaurants and people vibrantly cheering for the new year, dancing, and enjoying life, a scene still prominent until this day.
