Syrian protesters torch police station, dozens injured
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Friday that dozens of protesters were injured by gunshots when Syrian security forces were trying to disperse protesters in a village in Damascus. During the demonstration, protesters torched the village’s police station to protest against the arrest of a woman that participated in an anti-regime demonstration.     

The London-based Observatory noted that the demonstration was staged to protest against the arrest of a woman who participated in Thursday’s demonstration by police officers.   

The Observatory added that gunmen believed to be affiliated to a security apparatus assassinated a law professor teaching at the Baath University named Mohammad Farhan Abou al-Khayr. In fact, they shot him dead before his home near the cultural center in Al-Mahatta neighborhood in Homs.
