Nelson Mandela's casket was transported on Thursday morning from the military hospital in Pretoria to the Union Buildings, where it will lie in state for a second day.
Thousands queued on Wednesday to pay their last respects to the anti-apartheid icon, who died last Thursday, aged 95.
Huge crowds were also expected to turn out on Thursday to bid farewell to the man many affectionately call by his clan name Madiba.
Mandela's body will also lie in state for a last day on Friday.
On Saturday, Mandela's body will be flown to Qunu, his childhood home in the Eastern Cape Province.
He will be buried there on Sunday. AP
