US Sec of State Kerry makes unannounced visit to Tunisia
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry made an unannounced visit to Tunisia on Tuesday to support democratic progress in the country where the "Arab Spring" began, but which still faces violence from Islamist militants.       

Kerry is the first U.S. secretary of state to visit the North African nation since protesters stormed the U.S. embassy in Tunis on Sept. 14, 2012.         

That came three days after an attack on a U.S. mission in Benghazi in neighboring Libya killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador.
