Syrian President Bashar Assad assured on Wednesday that cooperation between countries of the region is essential to confront extremism and terrorism. During a meeting with Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Assad stressed the necessity of coordination between parliaments of regional countries, emphasizing that “these parliaments should unify their stances in order to confront the Wahhabi ideology which is considered as a threat to the people of the region and the entire world.”
