REPORT: Patriot, the missile defense system, reaches Jerusalem

The US and Israeli forces set up Patriot, a highly advanced missile defense system, on the high mountains of Jerusalem, to become part of the joint practices scheduled over a span of 4 weeks and which aim at facing a scenario whereby Israel is exposed to heavy rocket fire from Iran, Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza.                  
According to the practices’ plan, Jerusalem will become a central goal for attacks and this defense system according to the Defense Minister Ehud Barak is to reply to the Hamas Movement’s threats knowing that this system is covered by the US.               

In preparation for this issue, the U.S. military barge equipped with missile system AJS has reached the Israeli land  on Tuesday, to participate in practices for facing medium and long-range missiles.                      

Training also includes maritime surveillance and defense systems for enemy ships approaching from the territorial limits whereby Israeli concerns are escalating regarding the transmission of the Syrian crisis to Lebanon and then consequently  to Israel.                 

And with the escalation of the security situation on the southern border, Israel has decided to reduce these joint exercises awaiting developments in Gaza.
