For the first time in three years, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made a personal appearance on Ashura commemoration day at al-Raya stadium in Dahiyeh to address large crowds of Lebanese Shiite Muslims.
Sayyed Nasrallah made his way on Tuesday surrounded by masses of party supporters. Nasrallah started his speech by vowing to renew his pledge to Imam Hussein.
Nasrallah said that
the real threat to our nation is the U.S. Israeli project and the enemy occupying Palestine, adding that
the proof that the U.S. is the real enemy is that, at the first rough patch, it abandons its allies.
"We should not confuse between friend and foe, the U.S. is the real enemy and Israel is just a mere tool", Nasrallah said.
Sayyed Nsrallah said that he believes that the Arab people will not be deceived by U.S. plots, adding that he has faith that when they will overcome their domestic crises, they will close ranks and show a united front once again.
Speaking on the great changes ripping through the Middle East, Nasrallah said that Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barack was shaken by drastic changes in Egypt, since they will change the strategic outlook of the region.
"The US is trying to hide its failure in Iraq through the events in Syria, Iran as well as the Saudi Ambassador killing plot in Washington", Hezbollah's SG said.
Pertaining to the Syrian events, Nasrallah said that the party supports reforms in the neighboring country and endorses President Assad ‘s regime that have always backed the resistance movements in the region.
"The Syrian Transitional Council led by Burhan Ghalyon promised to cut all ties with Hezbollah, Iran and Hamas. Therefore, I call on all Syrians who are probably fighting with no bad intentions to review these statements and realize for which cause they are fighting", Nasrallah stressed.
Nasrallah added that foreign powers are taking the demand for reforms in Syria as a pretext to surrender another Arab regime as most of the Arab regimes already have.
"I address our enemies when I say that the Resistance is here to stay; day after day our troops are growing, our
arms are developing and they are being constantly renewed", Nasrallah said, adding "Those who are calling to destroy our missile arsenal are trying to achieve what Israel failed to do so in the 33 days of the July war".
Nasrallah addressed those who say that the resistance's weapons will lead to a civil war he said, "Small arms present in every house might, but ours never will; no civil war has ever started with long-range missiles".
