Achrafieh still mourns collapse victims, MPs launch hotline
The city of Achrafieh is still mourning the victims of the Fassouh building as the residents held a solemn funeral on Thursday for Layth Baqleh and his grandparents in the presence of several officials after the three victims’ bodies took a last tour of the city.

Meanwhile, during a press conference at MP Michel Pharaon’s office in the presence of Mayor of Beirut Bilal Hamad, the Free Decision parliamentary bloc-Beirut First District announced the launching of a hotline service for the residents.

MP Pharaon said that Achrafieh is grief-stricken by the recent tragedy, stressing the importance of determining the responsible for this catastrophe.

Pharaon added that Beirut MPs are standing on alert to avert a similar crisis, pointing out that the 000019 hotline was launched on Thursday for residents to report any critically damaged buildings.

In turn, MP Nadim Gemayel said that the Achrafieh MPs will take upon themselves, in cooperation with the urban planning bureau, the restoration of the building adjacent to the collapsed Fassouh building.
