Casino du Liban denies rumors over terror plots
The Board of Directors of the Casino du Liban denied on Wednesday the circulated rumors over terror plots targeting the facility.

In a statement, the Board asserted that such rumors are inaccurate, and are not based on serious data or indications, adding that the facility is running its business normally.

The Board also noted that the Casino du Liban have long adopted strict preventive security measures in coordination with the security apparatuses, adding that no unusual measures were recently taken since no indications require such measures to be adopted.

Rumors circulated on the backdrop of Qaa attacks stating that malls, cafes, restaurants and entertainment facilities, including Casino du Liban are the main targets of the next terrorist attacks.

On Tuesday, the Lebanese government warned of a heightened terrorist threat after eight suicide bombers targeted the Christian village of Qaa at the border with Syria, the latest spillover of that country's conflict into Lebanon.

The village of Qaa was targeted on Monday in two waves of suicide attacks that killed five people. The first group of bombers attacked before dawn and the second later at night, two of them blowing themselves up near a church.
