President Michel Aoun invited Nizam Mgheit, brother of abducted soldier Ibrahim Mgheit and Hussein Youssef, father of abducted soldier Mohammad Youssef, to head to the Baabda Presidential Palace to complete the arrangements for a meeting between the families of the abducted soldiers and President Aoun.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Hussein Youssef declared that the families had requested an appointment from President Aoun, but they did not receive any date and time for a meeting, noting that the relatives did not hesitate to contact any minister in order to reach some sort of solution for this issue.
Consequently, State Minister for Presidential Affairs Pierre Raffoul stressed, via a phone call, that a meeting will be set for the relatives to meet with Aoun after the holidays.
In turn, Nizam Mgheit and Hussein Youssef called for forming a crisis cell tasked with following up on the abduction case and preventing any obstruction, urging the authorities to grant Maj. Gen. Ibrahim complete prerogatives so that he can finalize the case.
