Huge fire breaks out in Sidon’s landfill

A huge fire erupted on Thursday in Sidon’s landfill, causing black smoke in the skies of the city.

A source in the Civil Defense reported that the fire is “massive”, and said that it trapped a Civil Defense team on top of the landfill, rescued shortly after.

The Civil Defense is struggling to extinguish the fire.

Sidon's landfill is located near the sea and poses a threat to the health and safety of Sidon’s residents.
