From the Parliament, MP Boutros Harb emphasized that the complexity of the situation in Lebanon is increasing, stressing that Lebanon cannot remain without a head of state until MP Michel Aoun and Hezbollah agree to participate in the electoral session.
Deputy Ahmad Fatfat noted that all Lebanese factions should have a unified stance regarding the situation in the region.
For his part, MP Attef Majdalani stated that “certain colleagues are hindering the election of a new president.”
Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum after Michel Sleiman's mandate ended on May 25 with rival political blocs still divided over a new leader.
