The Al-Nusra Front released on Tuesday via its twitter account a 14-minute video depicting 7 LAF soldiers who were kidnapped during armed clashes in the mountainous region of Arsal.
During the video, the soldiers warned that they will pay the price of the Qalamoun battle should Hezbollah and the Lebanese Armed Forces interfere in the clashes.
They also called on their relatives to elect an honest negotiator to follow up on their case, giving the example of Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt, Health Minister Wael Abou Faour, and Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi.
In the same context, the soldiers accused General Security Chief, Major General Abbas Ibrahim of making false promises to their relatives with regards to negotiations pertaining to their release.
The outstanding file of the Lebanese troops who have been kidnapped in Arsal back in August has caused widespread outrage among their relatives who have been protesting for months in Beirut’s Riyad al-Solh Square, calling for the release of their loved ones.
Three hostages have been killed by their abductors thus far.
