Over a ton of rotten meat found stored in Ain Saadeh

A meat storage facility in the industrial city of Ain Saadeh was sealed on Thursday after the consumer protection agency in Lebanon discovered a significant quantity of expired meat.

The head of the agency Fouad Fleifel said that a ton and a half of rotten meat was reportedly stored in the facility, adding that the meat will be disposed of.

Fleifel noted that this issue will be transferred to the judiciary to look into it. The facility’s owner justified the presence of rotten meat by saying that he had reserved them for his dog.

Media outlets were banned from entering the building and capturing footage of experts taking samples of the spoiled meatstuff.
