Bassil’s delay to sign gas price update sparks oil crisis in Lebanon
For the second week in a row, Energy Minister Gebran Bassil signs the weekly gasoline price update with some delay, causing an oil crisis as oil companies refused to deliver fuel to gas stations.

This crisis pushed Lebanese citizens to rush to gas stations on Thursday morning to fill their tanks, especially that next Monday April 2 and Tuesday April 3 the oil sector is expected to be on strike.

Although Bassil signed Thursday afternoon the weekly update, his step pleased neither gas station owners nor oil importing companies that consider that the delay is not justified.
