PM Salam says waste crisis should have been resolved 20 years ago
Prime Minister Tammam Salam stressed on Tuesday the Lebanese leaders’ failure to shoulder their national responsibilities, mainly over the presidential elections.
Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of president Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014 without the election of a successor.

Salam also noted that the waste management crisis that is ravaging the country should have been resolved 20 years ago.

Garbage has been piled up in Lebanon’s streets and other major roads, under bridges, along rivers and in forests, prompting various wide protests in the capital over the government's inability to resolve the crisis.
