Minister Azzi: UN official Grandi rules out possibility of resettlement of Syrians or Palestinians in Lebanon

Minister of Labor Sejaan Azzi said on Wednesday that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi ruled out the possibility of a resettlement of Syrians or Palestinians in Lebanon.

He also noted that he explained to Grandi Lebanon’s concerns in this regard, mainly with the ongoing war in Syria and no signs looming in the horizon about the near return of the Palestinian refugees.”

Azzi revealed that Grandi intends to pay a visit to Beirut when the circumstances allow such a visit in order to submit new plans that alleviate the Syrian refugees’ crisis burden on Lebanon.
