Future bloc MP Mohammad Qabbani said Sunday that there are no developments in terms of the presidential file, ruling out the possibility to elect a new president within the next two months.
In an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Qabbani accused Iran of disrupting the election of a new head of state through Hezbollah.
The lawmaker noted that “the Future bloc refuses to endorse head of Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun for presidency and upholds the nomination of Marada Movement MP Sleiman Frangieh.”
On another note, Qabbani said that the bloc backs the extension of the Army commander’s term in order to avoid a vacuum in this post.
