The concerns of the Christians of the Middle East and the repercussions of the regional conflicts were the main topics tackled by a group of US lawmakers, officials from the office of Lebanon and the Middle East at the US State Department and Arab Christian leaders at the US Congress over three days.
When discussing Lebanon, the officials praised the ability of the Lebanese people to live side by side with other people of different confessions and share with them the government structure, considering that this forms a unique principle in the governance in Lebanon. They also stressed the need that Lebanon avoids being dragged into sectarian strife and internal conflicts.
