Ipsos conducted a new poll, whereby it surveyed the aspirations of the Lebanese citizens after the election of Michel Aoun as the new President.
The questions included in the survey came as follow:
Are the citizens satisfied with the election of Michel Aoun as president?
Yes: 71%
No: 29%
Hopes for a better future with Aoun as president:
Yes: 62%
No: 38%
What are the citizens’ demands?
Fighting corruption at state’s institutions: 57%
Improving the economic situation: 52%
Resolving waste crisis: 40%
Resolving electricity issue: 36%
Passing new electoral law and holding parliamentary elections: 27%
Maintaining security: 18%
Are the citizens optimistic over the president’s success?
Yes: 63%
No: 37%
On the citizens’ opinion over the events that took place during the electoral session:
What happened was abnormal and shameful: 68% of Christians; 53% of the Sunnis and 51% of the Shiites
What happened was a political tactic: 59% of the Druze
