Kataeb: Any attempt to postpone parliamentary elections must be stopped

The Kataeb Party called on Monday all the parties to exert efforts in order to maintain political stability in the country through reaching an agreement over a fair parliamentary electoral law that secures a just representation and guarantees expatriates’ voting. Any attempt to postpone the parliamentary elections should be stopped, stressed the party, adding that it has always been ready to complete and maintain its goals.      

After its weekly meeting, the party urged the government to benefit from the international attention that is being granted to Lebanon and that highlights the importance of Lebanon in the region. All parties should therefore use this attention to assert the sovereignty of the state, and invest Lebanon’s ties with international powers for the country’s higher interests, especially on the security and economic levels, the party noted. It also urged the government to prevent foreign factors from controlling internal affairs, warning against signing any foreign agreement that does not respect Lebanon’s interests and traditions.
