Governor of Banque du Liban says Lebanon has all required laws to fight money laundering

Governor of Banque du Liban Riyad Salameh asserted on Sunday that Lebanese banking sector plays a significant role in the country’s economy, adding however that it goes beyond the Lebanese borders.

He also added that Lebanon “placed over the years systems that helped in building a banking sector, maintaining its integrity and helped facing the various political, security, and even global and regional financial crises.”

Salameh concluded by saying that Lebanon became one of the countries that has all the required laws to fight money laundering and terror financing.
