Gemayel to Lebanese leaders: You are destroying the country

Kataeb party leader Sami Gemayel said on Tuesday that the leaders who were not able to draft a new vote law during the past eight years will be notable to agree on one within the next two weeks.

Gemayel’s comments were made during a press conference whereby he noted that all political leaders are to be blamed for the country’s current situation.

“You are destroying Lebanon, our democratic system, the Constitution and our Lebanese youth,” Gemayel said blaming the leaders for the current impasse.

Speaker Nabih Berri postponed a parliamentary session that was scheduled to take place on Monday until May 29, as Lebanese leaders once again failed to agree on a new electoral vote law.

Its current mandate officially ends on June 20.
