The political science institute at the Saint Joseph University organized a seminar on the electoral systems proposed for discussion on the political scene, where Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil presented the approach of the Free Patriotic Movement concerning the electoral law.
The seminar aimed at finding framework to discuss the new electoral law from a perspective depending on the academic norms in order to keep away from media analyses that are dominated by political rhetoric.
In this context, Bassil tackled the issue, proposing the projects adopted by the FPM. He also expressed his regret that the qualification law was rejected, noting that he is convinced that a new electoral law will be passed, even after a while.
