The Kataeb party managed on Wednesday to gather the signature of ten MPs to appeal the tax hike law.
The MPs who signed the appeal of tax hike law are:
Sami Gemayel, Samer Saadeh, Salim Karam, Khaled Al Daher, Dori Chamoun, Fouad Al-Saad, Elie Marouni, Fadi Al-Haber, Nadim Gemayel and Boutros Harb.
Then, head of the Kataeb Party MP Sami Gemayel headed to the Constitutional Council and officially submitted the appeal.
After submitting the appeal, Gemayel pointed that “all the articles included in the appeal are constitutional,” hoping for the suspension of the tax hike law implementation awaiting a more meticulous study.
For his part, head of the Constitutional Council Issam Sleiman said that the Council will convene tomorrow Thursday at 10:00 AM to discuss the submitted appeal and to appoint someone to prepare a report in this regard.
