President Michel Aoun stressed that dialogue has become an urgent need and the road to salvation from all the problems in the world today, mainly terrorism that knows no bounds, noting that he repeatedly warned against the risk of being dragged into Sunni-Shiite strife, but the plan was stronger than any warning.
In his speech delivered during the Mediterranean Dialogues conference held in Rome, Aoun said that Lebanon is the land where Islamic-Christian dialogue represents a fundamental culture and a way of life that always distinguished us from other parts of the world.
He pointed out that, if the immediate solution to put an end to terrorism is military intervention and draining its funding sources, the crucial solutions is the most important, since it prevents is rebirth through ending the reasons of its existence, the ideology.
“The divisions of the Lebanese people are no longer beyond politics, their limit is the national unity,” he added.
