REPORT: Leaks suggest dismissal of LF ministers from cabinet; can it be done?

As soon as Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea announced from Baabda that the party’s ministers are staying in the cabinet, leaks of a cabinet reshuffle started suggesting that the Lebanese Forces ministers Pierre Bou Assi, Ghassan Hasbani and Melhem al-Riachi will be dismissed from the cabinet.

This information was not ignored by the party, especially that they were accompanied with the campaign launched against the party by those close to Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

In this regard, the Lebanese Forces conducted a study on the means and the constitutionality of removing the ministers, concluding that this measure can be possible through a decree by the cabinet that will be approved by two-thirds of the ministers, or by raising the issue of confidence in the party’s ministers before the parliament.

Sources from the Future Movement denied reports that Hariri proposed the dismissal of said ministers.
