Prime Minister Saad Hariri stressed Thursday that the government is aware that it is witnessing exceptional moment of international agreement, noting that the government also knows that t is a national interest to preserve this international consensus.
Speaking during Rome II conference to support the Lebanese army and security forces, Hariri pointed out that his government’s priority is to create an effective circle of security, stability, growth and employment for the Lebanese.
He also stressed that the cabinet is also committed to ensuring continuity for the work of the Lebanese army and security forces on the strategic level and is committed to implementing the UN resolutions 1701 and 2372, declaring that more troops will be sent to south Lebanon.
“Israel remains the main threat to Lebanon,” he said, emphasizing the need that it ends its daily violations to Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The prime minister revealed from Rome that a special unit for human rights will be founded under the premiership to focus on raising national awareness about the dangers of the use of arms by civilians.
