Minister of Foreign Gebran Bassil followed up on Friday on the opening of the ballot boxes in six Arab countries, allowing Lebanese expatriates to vote for the first time.
“I am very proud to witness through screens from the Foreign Affairs Ministry the voting of the first Lebanese expatriate in the history of the Lebanese republic,” Bassil said moments after the opening of ballot boxes.
“It is the beginning of a path that will not stop until the Lebanese would return to their Lebanity,” he added via his Twitter account.
He also noted that the Lebanese expatriates are participating in Lebanon’s future by participating in the voting.
