MP Salim Aoun: Timing of Jumblatt’s statements is remarkable

MP Salim Aoun said on Saturday that the timing of the Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt’s statements about the era of President Michel Aoun is “remarkable on all levels.”

“These statements come straight after the parliamentary elections and after designating Prime Minister Saad Hariri to form a new Cabinet,” Aoun said during an interview with LBCI Nharkom Said TV show.

Yesterday, Jumblatt criticized the current presidential term of President Michel Aoun as having “failed since its first moment,” in a tweet from his personal Twitter account.

As for the Syrian refugees dossier, Aoun lamented the fact that some Lebanese sides are in line with the International community’s stance that does not encourage refugees to return to their homeland.

“Every internal division in this regard weakens the Lebanese official stance,” he added.

As for the Cabinet formation, Aoun noted that such an issue becomes secondary when the country is faced to imminent dangers.
