Syrian ambassador: border incidents should not be blown out of proportion
Syrian ambassador Ali Abdel Karim Ali stressed on Tuesday that incidents taking place on the Lebanese-Syrian border should not be blown out of proportion. He noted that such incidents are being resolved in coordination between the two countries to prevent the recurrence of arms smuggling, border attacks or gunfire.

After meeting with Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour, Ali said that the Syrian authorities are working on arresting the offenders who abide by “foreign agendas”.

Commenting on President Michel Sleiman’s position regarding the attack targeting Lebanese security forces, Ali called for “an effective implementation of international treaties between the two countries”.

The Syrian ambassador explained that he was the one who requested holding the meeting with Mansour not the Lebanese FM.
